Lopamudra was initiated into the world of music on the
keen interest of her most eminent sculptor father Sri
Debabrata Chakraborty at her early age which placed her
under the tutelage of Guru Pt Shiv Shankar Mukherjee -
a Great Exponent of “Goudharvani” style of
Gwalior Gharana
As a child performer she has performed in many acclaimed
concerts. The young Lopamudra rendered many performances
in renowned full house concerts and recognized as an
upcoming talent both by “Rasikas” (connoisseurs)
and Pandits and Gurus (Maestroes) in the field. She
has received many honours and awards in India and abroad,
besides State Academy award of Delhi, special honour
from I.A.V.C. Association, India Observer, Amantran
Television – Canada, etc. Widely performed in
all serious Concerts in India like Dhrupad Samarohs
at various cities, HCL Concert series of Habitat World,
Delhi and several other places abroad.
She was further groomed by stalwarts like Ustad Asad
Ali Khan, Smt. Deepali Nag, Ustad Farriuddin Dagar and
Smt Sumati Mutatkar which has polished an sparkled her
like a diamond in her presentation.
